Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States and is home to our Nation’s president. Inside the city are some of the world’s most famous landmarks that include, the White House, Smithsonian Institute, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Arlington National Cemetery.
Many of the Capital area’s most famous attractions can be found in Northern Virginia, which is located just across the Potomac to the west of the District. These attractions span the time from the colonial period to the emergence of America as the preeminent national power in the twentieth century.

Bar Harbor started off as a simple and exclusive resort and summer home for the Venderbilts and the Astors. That was until it was destroyed by a fire in October on 1947. It was then rebuilt bigger and better and became a place for tourists.

Williamsburg, Virginia is a great city that offers a little bit of everything. The city has some history to it – but it also has one of the largest theme parks in the country – Busch Gardens. Colonial Williamsburg is the place to go to see actors and volunteers bring the 1770 city to life. As you walk around the town you can see everyone busy going about their natural ways and doing the things that they would have done during that time.

One great thing to do is to pick a place that you want to see and then look around the area to see where you can stay. This doesn’t mean that you look around at some of the best hotels in the area. Red Lodge, Montana is a great place to visit when you are looking to enjoy everything that the outdoors has to offer. You can do everything from camping, to fishing, hunting, skiing, and even snowmobiling. When you have a large family and you are trying to choose a destination it can be difficult. So why not choose more than one? The trick is to take a week long road trip and to visit as many sites as you can.
For a shorter road trip you want to pick cities and sites that are close to each other. For a longer trip you can pick ones that are a bit further away allowing you to see more of the countryside and cities that you are passing through.
