Las Vegas is the city of lights and the city of fun and of course the city of sin! With that being said there is a lot of temptation and more then one way to fall for the tourist traps that lurk around every corner. When you go to Las Vegas you can’t help but get caught up in all of the silent excitement that follows you around.
There is nothing wrong with having fun and letting loose – but we recommend you stay away from the thing that are there to suck the money from you without so much as a thank you.
The first tourist trap that you need to watch out for are the gift shops and they are everywhere. When you go to a casino or hotel they ask that you visit their attraction (which you have to pay for of course) in order to get in. So when you are through with whatever attraction it was they direct you immediately to the gift shop instead of the door hoping that you will pick up many souvenirs on the way out. Remember that you don’t have to pay to get out. You get that for free!
Another tourist trap that you don’t want to fall for are going to see some of those attractions. Why? Because more often then not you can see them for free somewhere else. A good example of this is the shark reef at the Mandalay Bay. They charge you $16 to see exotic fish and other sea creatures in their giant tank. It is true that this is amazing – but you’ll find that you can see these creatures at any other restaurant for free while you eat.
